Which CLI to choose
The following page describes which CLI to choose per operating system.
Windows
On Windows, it is best to choose either PowerShell or Git Bash. See What is a CLI for more information. Use WSL only if you are experienced with it.
- For PowerShell, open it from the startup menu.
- For Git Bash, after installing Git for Windows, open it from the startup menu.
- For a Bash shell in WSL, If you have installed the Windows Subsystem for Linux, open your installed Linux operating system.
MacOS
- Command + Space keys gives you Spotlight, type ‘terminal’ and press enter.
Linux and other Unixes
- Opening a terminal on a Linux machine depends on the operating system. Consult your operating system on how to open a CLI.
